Hi, future me. I know you're the sentimental type, so you'll probably be looking back at these every few months. Week one was hectic to say the least. The CTS-300 workload isn't too bad, but taking two winter courses (especially two that you aren't very interested in learning) was probably not the best choice. To top it all off, the LA fires started creeping a little too close for comfort, so packing to evacuate + starting a new school + cramming for two accelerated courses was a recipe for disaster this first week. But you did it, and it only goes uphill from here! Upon researching for your Industry Analysis paper, you found some information about programming jobs in Major League Baseball. Hopefully one day you can look back on these posts from your job doing data analytics or some sort of baseball-related programming. You also got to know your group mates this week. All three of those guys are really kind and funny, and your worries of being a female in a male-dominated field disappeared for the time being. I hope I can maintain long-lasting friendships with these three, far beyond this program. Everything else learned this week was simple: netiquette, study tips, how to excel in an online course, and about CSUMB's campus and mission statement. I am so proud to be starting my journey as an otter, and am eager to meet all my peers and faculty on campus for graduation. Bye for now, I'll check in next week.
